WFS Financial Inc.: The Irvine automobile finance company reported that net income rose 68% in the first quarter to $9.3 million, or 40 cents a share, from $5.6 million, or 30 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 78% to $47.5 million from $26.7 million.
