World IN BRIEF : CANADA : Rioting Trashes Manitoba Prison

An outbreak of bloody rioting that began late Thursday at a Manitoba prison ended with the surrender of the last of the inmates who had taken over the facility outside Winnipeg. Dozens of people were injured, and one man had his fingers cut off. During the rampage, prisoners set fires, destroyed equipment and broke into the medical unit.
