Xircom Announces 13% Jump in 2nd Quarter Sales

Xircom Inc. of Thousand Oaks announced a 13% increase, to $45.3 million, in net sales for the second quarter of fiscal 1996 over the same period a year ago.

The electronics company also reported net income for the quarter ending March 31 of $1.4 million or 7 cents per share, compared to net income of $2.5 million, or 15 cents a share, in the year-ago period.

Revenues for the first six months of fiscal 1996 totaled $83 million, compared to $80.1 million for the comparable 1995 year-to-date period. Net income for the most recent six-month period was $613,000, or 3 cents a share, compared to $7 million, or 41 cents per share, in the 1995 period.
