Jobs at Stake if Air Station Closes

It seems to me that thousands of local jobs will be lost when the next Base Closure Commission examines the need for Point Mugu Naval Air Station. For many months the uninformed activists at Silver Strand have denied the use of the range to the Navy.

Now is the time for the local commission--which so valiantly, effectively and successfully fought the closing of Mugu--to educate the uninformed and to point out the likelihood that their actions will result in the closing during the next review.

I predict that unless we support the Navy now, we won’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of convincing the Base Closure Commission that we should keep the Mugu range open.

Now is the time to fight. It may already be too late.
