Even as a scaled-back search team spent a fourth fruitless day hunting for her husband, Sally Shelton-Colby clung ferociously to her belief that William E. Colby, the former CIA director missing since Sunday, is still alive somewhere in the Southern Maryland marshes, waiting for rescuers to find him. She described her husband, 76, as extraordinarily fit, in perfect health and a “superb boatman.”
