Times Mirror Co. Executives Promoted: Six senior operating executives have been appointed corporate vice presidents, in addition to their current responsibilities, the Los Angeles-based parent of the Los Angeles Times said. They are Horst A. Bergmann, 58, chairman, president and chief executive of Jeppesen Sanderson; Shelby Coffey III, 49, editor and executive vice president, the Los Angeles Times; Kathryn M. Downing, 42, president and chief executive, Matthew Bender; Raymond A. Jansen, 57, publisher, president and chief executive, Newsday; Mary E. Junck, 48, publisher and chief executive, the Baltimore Sun; and Michael E. Waller, 54, publisher and chief executive, the Hartford Courant. “These appointments recognize the contributions and impact these individuals had and will increasingly have on the progress of our company,” said Mark H. Willes, Times Mirror chairman, president and chief executive.
