Berkshire Hathaway Ups Stock Offering Again: The stratospheric stock price of billionaire investor Warren Buffett’s investment company, Berkshire Hathaway Inc., will come within reach of ordinary investors with a new class of shares priced at just $1,110 each, underwriter Salomon Bros. said. Berkshire Hathaway said it increased for the fourth time the offering of the new stock to 450,000 shares of Class B common stock from a previous 350,000. Buffett is offering the B shares this week in an effort to thwart plans by investment firms to set up unit trusts that would invest in A shares, which closed at $33,400 a share, down $1,500, on NYSE. Separately, Berkshire said it notified USAir Group of its offer to sell back to the airline all 358,000 shares of Series A cumulative convertible preferred stock that it owns.
