City Launches Home Page on the Internet
Residents, merchants and cyberspace travelers in Camarillo have a new way to gather information about the city and its activities: a home page on the Internet.
The brainchild of the City Council’s Telecommunications Committee, the page went online late last week after three months of planning and preparation.
“This will be a valuable tool for us to find out what sorts of things grab the attention of people and businesses in other states or even other countries,” Mayor David M. Smith said in a prepared statement.
“We’ll find out which sections of the home page are getting the most visitors and we’ll certainly pay attention to that as we add new information,” he said.
The site contains more than 70 pages of information, alerting readers to public meetings, employment figures, recreational opportunities, shopping listings and other activities.
The city’s Internet address is https://www.ci.camarillo.ca.us; e-mail messages can be sent to cityhall@ci.camarillo.ca.us.
