CPR PROGRAM ENDING

Share

More than 300 parents who mastered CPR techniques and earthquake-preparation skills in classes sponsored by Mission College this year will be honored today in a campus ceremony.

The event also will serve as the farewell for the program that has provided CPR training for three years to parents with students in the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Mission College officials said they will no longer receive enough grant money to fund the program. The college had received about $10,000 a year as part of a crisis-prevention project from the state Department of Education to run the training sessions. The program ran from October to May each year with free weeklong classes.
