Dehydrated Hall Unable to Finish Race

Share

Kevin Hall of Ventura, a Laser class sailor who has been fighting testicular cancer since 1990, saw his Olympic dreams fade Thursday when he was unable to finish the second race of the day in the U.S. Olympic Yachting Trials off the coast of Savannah, Ga.

His coach, Tom Kenney, said Hall became dehydrated and chose to drop out of the race and rest.

Hall received a waiver to compete in the trials because he has to take testosterone, which is on the International Olympic Committee’s list of banned substances.
