Chrysler Request for Attorney Sanctions Denied: The Auburn Hills, Mich.-based auto maker filed motions in March against three Seattle lawyers and, in a separate case, against two lawyers in St. Louis, seeking sanctions against them for filing what the company called frivolous lawsuits seeking class-action status. U.S. District Judge William Dwyer said the actions taken by the lawyers in the Seattle case were “reasonable.” The lawyers argued that a certain Eagle owner who had settled with Chrysler Corp. was part of a class of car owners with bad paint jobs and filed a suit on her behalf. Chrysler said it will appeal that ruling. Details on Chrysler’s case against the two St. Louis lawyers were not available.
