OCCUPIED WEST BANK : Israeli Troops Shoot Hamas Suspect

Israeli soldiers shot and wounded a member of the militant Islamic group Hamas who is suspected of planning suicide bombings, Israeli television said. It said troops captured Hassan Salameh during a vehicle search, which uncovered guns, in the West Bank town of Hebron. The car’s driver was also arrested. Salameh, taken to a hospital at Hebron, is suspected of planning three of the four suicide bombings in Israel earlier this year that killed scores of people.
