SHOWS FOR YOUNGSTERS AND THEIR PARENTS TOO : The circus comes to the Family Channel (and so does Elvis); a big gator legend hits Showtime

Vanessa-Mae hopes to do for the electric violin what Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix did for the electric guitar. The 17-year-old virtuoso is the title star of the new music special Vanessa-Mae at the Albert Hall (Disney Channel, Sunday at 9 p.m.; repeats May 24 at 7 p.m.). The performer, born in Singapore and raised in the United Kingdom, will play pieces from Bach and her own version of Euro pop during the London concert. For the family.

Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey brings The Greatest Show on Earth to the Family Channel (Sunday at 11 a.m.). Actress Nell Carter is host of the show, which includes the Quiros Tightrope Troupe balancing 30 feet in the air while wearing blindfolds, riding bicycles and performing multilevel pyramids without a net. Carter also sings. For the family.

Elvis Presley rocks in a six-hour marathon on three shows airing on the Family Channel (Saturday from 7 p.m. to early Sunday 1 a.m.) First off, in Elvis: The Great Performances, his former wife Priscilla gives the audience a tour of Graceland and a personal look at his memorable and controversial moments. During the special, songs from “Love Me Tender” to “Blue Suede Shoes” are featured. At 9 p.m., Elvis tries to Follow That Dream as absent-minded Toby Kwimper, whose eccentric family settles on a government-owned beach in Key West to start a fishing company. At 11 p.m., Elvis plays a former Army enlistee turned boxer who earns the title Kid Galahad when he rescues a defenseless lady from an attacker. Still, he’d rather be a mechanic. Songs include “Home Is Where The Heart Is” and “This Is Living.” For ages 10 and up.
