‘Moby-Dick’

I read with glee of the UCLA students’ 25-hour marathon of reading the classic Melville book, “Moby-Dick” (May 11). It said they purchased six pounds of coffee to get them through the long session. Didn’t they know they could have perhaps gotten all the coffee they wanted free?

A popular coffeehouse and coffee brand named their famous coffee after the first mate in “Moby-Dick.” He was depicted as always carrying a coffee cup with him. His name was Starbuck.
