Small Park Proposed for Fairfax District

Share

It might be small, but it is probably going to be pretty.

A proposed park at the northeast corner of Rosewood and Fairfax avenues measures about 85 feet long and 18 feet wide. Yet it is one of the rare open spaces in the Fairfax district and Los Angeles City Councilman Mike Feuer wants to preserve it.

For the record:

A story in The Times on Tuesday misstated the date of Los Angeles City Councilman Mike Feuer’s upcoming neighborhood meeting on plans for a proposed park in the Fairfax district. The meeting will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

The Fairfax Rosewood Minipark will cost the city $80,000 to build and will include benches--designed to be uncomfortable for sleeping--improved lighting and a new irrigation system. The park is intended in part to be a resting spot for the many elderly people who shop along Fairfax Avenue, said Rochelle Ventura, an aide to Feuer.

The councilman will discuss proposed plans for the park at a neighborhood meeting next Monday at 1:30 p.m. at CBS Television City, Studio 33.
