SHOWS FOR YOUNGSTERS AND THEIR PARENTS TOO : Disney marks 50 years of Burbank filmmaking; Cartoon Network opens a ‘Big Bag’; ‘Moose’ love

A rural general store is the home base for the Big Bag (Cartoon Network, Sunday at 6 a.m.), a one-hour, weekly program designed to show kids how to use their imaginations in problem-solving and social behaviors such as sharing, apologizing and keeping a promise. Big Bag is the name of the store owned by Molly (Selina Nelson), who sings, dances and tells stories. She is assisted by Chelli, a 6-year-old ragtag muppet, with his sidekick The Bag. For ages 2 to 5.

Kids These Days (Lifetime, Sunday at 10:30 a.m.) is a parenting show focusing on the challenges of rearing children between 6 and 12. The show’s host is Dana Fleming, who most recently hosted NBC’s “The Other Side.” Psychologist David Elkins also appears on the show. For the family.

A boy and a girl come to the aid of a moose stranded on a island in Salt Water Moose (Showtime, Sunday at 8 p.m.). The adventure begins when the kids try to sail a female moose across the sound to the lonely bull. For ages 10 and up.

Using comedy, drama, wildlife filming and graphics to introduce kids to nature, Kratts’ Creatures premieres with a bang (KCET, Monday at 4:30 p.m.). The new PBS series, hosted by brothers Martin Kratt, a zoologist, and Chris Kratt, a biologist, informs and entertains. For ages 5 and up.

The Best of Disney: 50 Years of Magic celebrates the 50th anniversary of Disney’s Burbank studios (Disney Channel, Wednesday at 8 p.m.) Celebrity hosts--including Dick Van Dyke, Daryl Hannah, Annette Funicello and Barbara Walters--introduce Disney film clips. For the family.
