Someone stole $30,000 worth of training bicycles from Jacqui Lockwood’s garage in Chandler, Ariz., on Tuesday--one day before she was leaving for the Olympic trials in Pennsylvania.
Lockwood, a 31-year-old physical therapist, said she was lucky they did not steal her competition bike. The thieves probably thought the $2,500 bike was broken. It had no gears, breaks or pedals, and was dismantled in preparation for the trip to Pennsylvania.
