From Times Wire Reports

Troops and police mounted a huge security operation across Bangladesh on the eve of the country’s second parliamentary elections in four months amid mixed forecasts of how free and fair the voting will be. The smooth running of today’s elections is seen as crucial if the poverty-stricken country of 120 million people is to put a history of military rule and political chaos behind it. About 440,000 security officers have been deployed in all 64 administrative districts and big cities.
