Netscape to Work With AOL, Softbank on Ads: Netscape Communications Corp. said it reached agreements with America Online Inc. and a unit of Softbank Corp. to sell advertisements on its site on the Internet. Mountain View, Calif.-based Netscape said it will offer advertisers better software for creating online ads. Vienna, Va.-based AOL will handle advertising sales focusing on consumer categories, while Softbank will represent the company’s advertising programs for business-to-business ads. Netscape writes computer programs for publishing and reading information on the graphics-rich World Wide Web. The companies will offer advertisers a package that lets them display their ads on Netscape’s site and America Online, the world’s biggest online service.
