INDIA : At Least 85 Killed by Rainstorm in South

A cyclone and monsoon rainstorm that battered the southern region for three days killed at least 85 people and left hundreds homeless. As it headed north toward neighboring Bangladesh, officials warned that another cyclone was developing. Packing winds of up to 60 mph, the storm destroyed nearly 450 homes in Andhra Pradesh state, where at least 36 people died. At least 35 fishermen were reported missing off the southeastern coast and were feared drowned.
