An Exercise in Weight Management

Share

It’s no secret that health and weight are intertwined.

That’s why savvy health clubs are starting to add weight management programs to their existing physical fitness regimes, according to Arthur I. Rothafel & Associates, a Newport Beach-based consulting firm.

Health clubs can be an especially attractive alternative among baby boomers who’ve failed self-guided attempts at losing weight. Firm founder Rothafel says that some clubs are offering weight training without charge, on the assumption that successful dieters would likely join the club subsequently as dues-paying members.

Rothafel says that health clubs can also bolster their appeal by teaming up with doctors or hospitals.
