McKernan Is Named Principal at Tynes

Brian McKernan will become the principal at John O. Tynes Elementary School, effective July 1.
McKernan was hired by the board of Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District in May but was just assigned to a specific post, district officials said Monday. He will succeed Beth Berndt, Tynes principal for the past eight years, who is moving out of state.
Before joining Placentia-Yorba Linda, McKernan served for five years as an assistant middle school principal with the East Whittier City School District.
