U.S. Beats Mexico on Penalty Kick

Jovan Kirovski scored on a penalty kick early in the second half Wednesday night to lift the U.S. Olympic soccer team to a 1-0 victory over the Mexican Olympic team at St. Louis.

Kirovski scored in the game’s 49th minute, putting his kick low and to the right of Mexico goalkeeper Alexandro Alvarez.

The United States improved to 11-6-11 in Olympic warmup games.
