The Ventura County schools office has appointed an Oak Park school official as assistant superintendent of business and personnel, overseeing $881 million in school district budgets countywide.
Stan Mantooth, now assistant superintendent of business services with Oak Park Unified School District, will begin his new job July 22.
“Stan Mantooth brings with him a strong background in business and personnel administration,” said Charles Weis, county superintendent of schools, in a prepared statement. “He is highly regarded within school business circles and is familiar with many challenges facing our districts.”
A graduate of Cal State Northridge, Mantooth has more than 21 years of experience in public school business offices.
When he assumes his new post, Mantooth will oversee business advisory services to school districts, information technology and human resources, in addition to budgets.
The county superintendent of schools office offers administrative, business and personnel services to 194 schools in Ventura County’s 20 school districts.
Mantooth will replace Robert Smith, who has accepted a position with the Ojai Unified School District.
Mantooth, who also holds a master’s degree in school business administration from Pepperdine University, was named administrator of the year in 1995 by the Assn. of California School Administrators.
