* I commend Mayor Andy Fox of Thousand Oaks for his adroit game of chess. After incorporating Planning Commissioner Linda Parks’ initiative into a city ordinance, he introduced his own initiative to undermine the Parks initiative-ordinance. The mayor checkmated Commissioner Parks and City Councilwomen Elois Zeanah and Jaime Zukowski with his initiative.
He won his round of chess, but he lost to the broader game on the horizon--public trust.
