BITING THE BULLET

I applaud the efforts of Texas television station KVUE in reducing the mindless emphasis on crime stories (“Where Crime Does Not Play,” by Howard Rosenberg, June 23).

Since local TV news is not moving ethically in a direction which I approve as a consumer, I have found alternative sources. By reading the newspaper, listening to KNX-AM, catching Bloomberg’s news on USA cable and accessing wire service reports via CompuServe, I am quite well informed.
