Wawa food stores, a Pennsylvania-based chain of 500 outlets in five states, is demanding in a federal lawsuit alleging trademark infringement and deception that a HAHA market--there’s just one--in eastern Pennsylvania--change its name.
HAHA owners Tamilee and George Haaf II aren’t amused. They say they have a perfect right to the name, a shortened combination of their surnames.
U.S. District Chief Judge Edward Cahn attempted to bring the sides to an amicable settlement Tuesday. Unable to do so, he scheduled a preliminary injunction hearing for July 12.
