Hughes Wins Court Order on Missile Program: The unit of Los Angeles-based Hughes Electronics Corp. persuaded a federal judge to temporarily bar Lockheed Martin Corp. and McDonnell Douglas Corp. from working on the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile program. U.S. District Judge Albert Bryan in Virginia issued the temporary restraining order, which prevents the two companies from working on the project for 10 days. The Air Force on June 17 chose the pair as finalists to develop the missile program and hoped to choose one of the firms as the sole builder in 1998. The decision could be delayed by the court action.
