Firm to Sell and Install Sync Research Products

Share

Sync Research said it has signed an agreement in which its products will be sold and installed by Ameritech, a giant telecommunications company based in Chicago.

Sync, whose stock was one of Wall Street’s hottest initial public offerings last year, makes devices that enable mainframe computer networks to send and receive information over so-called wide area network systems that are more flexible and less expensive.

The deal is part of Irvine-based Sync’s effort to have more of its products sold and installed by regional telephone companies. Traditionally, 50% of the company’s sales have come from Sync’s own sales force, and the remaining 50% from IBM and other reselling partners.
