80 Equestrians to Vie in Special Olympics

More than 80 horseback riders will compete Saturday and Sunday in the 1996 California Special Olympics Equestrian Championships at the Ventura County Fairgrounds.

Hosted by Ventura County Special Olympics, the event, which is open to the public, begins with opening ceremonies at 9 a.m. followed by a day of equitation and trail classes.

Equestrians Sunday will compete in pole-bending, barrel racing and jumping.
