WASHINGTON. D.C. : Street Parking Ban Proposed

The General Services Administration has proposed eliminating more than 360 street parking spaces to protect all major downtown federal office buildings from truck bombs, the Washington Post reported. The plan has alarmed local political and business leaders, the newspaper said. The closing of Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House already has disrupted traffic and commerce.
