A man charged with murder and robbery jumped up from his wheelchair and stabbed his former girlfriend in front of a shocked courtroom, a spokesman for the U.S. Marshal’s service said Tuesday.

Harold Cunningham, 25, stabbed Jamel Jackson as she was leaving the witness stand Monday. She had just testified that she witnessed one killing and had overheard Cunningham discussing other crimes.

Cunningham also cut a prosecutor, Kenneth Wainstein, on the hand. Neither was seriously wounded, and marshals wrestled Cunningham to the ground.
