Israeli soldiers Wednesday dug up graves of Lebanese guerrillas buried in the Jewish state for a possible exchange with the Islamic group Hezbollah, witnesses said.

For most of the day, Israeli military censors blocked publication of the report of the unearthing of the bodies at a cemetery in northern Israel, where dozens of guerrillas killed in clashes along the Israeli-Lebanese border are buried.

Hezbollah officials said Tuesday that a German mediator was trying to broker a deal for the exchange of the remains of two Israeli soldiers held by the pro-Iranian group for Arabs imprisoned in Israel and the bodies of guerrillas buried in the Jewish state.
