DONATIONS WELCOME: A variety of charities will participate in the Third Annual Missions Faire of Woodland Hills United Methodist Church, which takes place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Those who attend may make donations or purchase handicrafts made by artisans from 28 underdeveloped nations and five areas of the United States.

The participating charities include: AIDS Heartline (distributes medical supplies and food to AIDS patients and sponsors support groups); Habitat for Humanity (builds lower-cost housing for low-income families); Heifer Project International (organizes the purchase of animals for families in impoverished countries); Society of St. Andrew (procures surplus agricultural products to feed the needy); West Valley Food Pantry (provides food for homeless and needy); and Women’s Care Cottage (operates a resource center for homeless women, 15-bed shelter and child care center).

In addition, registration will be held for an American Red Cross blood drive planned from 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Aug. 11 at the church. (818) 346-6528.

CLERGY NETWORK: A luncheon to recognize the formal transfer of the Clergy Network of Los Angeles is planned for noon Wednesday at Marie Callender’s restaurant, 19310 Business Center Drive, Northridge. As of Aug. 1, Clergy Network of Los Angeles will be under the sponsorship of the San Fernando Valley Interfaith Council. Its founder, 66-year-old Rabbi Bernard M. Cohen, has announced his retirement. The organization was formed 12 years ago when Cohen was rabbi at Temple Solael in West Hills as a series of free monthly luncheons focusing on medical issues. It has since spread throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties, with chapters also in Fresno, Phoenix and Big Spring, Texas. (818) 883-0219.

CABARET: The Namaste Interfaith Center will host a “White Light Cabaret” featuring original music and comedy in a nonalcoholic coffeehouse atmosphere at 8 p.m. Friday at 12447 Magnolia Blvd., Valley Village. Cost is $7 per person. (818) 763-3330.

OPEN HOUSE: Burbank Temple Emanu El Pre-school will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at 1302 N. Glenoaks Blvd. Founded 39 years ago, the nonprofit, nonsectarian school teaches children ages 2 1/2 to 6 years. The fall semester begins Sept. 4. (818) 845-1734.
