SEAL BEACH — Rockwell International Corp. said it will team with Britain’s GEC-Marconi on a contract valued at more than $750 million to design and build a new anti-tank missile for the British Ministry of Defense.
Rockwell’s share of the multiyear deal will be more than $250 million. Work will be done in Britain and at the Duluth, Ga., plant of Rockwell’s Autonetics and Missile Systems Division. About 60 manufacturing workers will be hired at the 700-employee Georgia facility, a Rockwell spokesman said.
GEC-Marconi will be the prime contractor on the Brimstone missile project. Rockwell, which builds the U.S. military’s Hellfire anti-armor missile, will provide missile-system information and system integration to the Brimstone program.
