Newport Harbor Yacht Club Wins Cup

The Newport Harbor Yacht Club won the Governor’s Cup Sunday at Corona del Mar.

Skipper Sever Kleha, with his crew of Patrick Hogan and John Barry, won nine times and lost twice in the four-day international junior sailing event.

Second was the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club of Australia. The King Harbor Yacht Club was third. Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, the defending champion, was fifth.

Other Orange County yacht clubs to finish in the top 10 were the Balboa Yacht Club (sixth) and Corona del Mar’s Bahia Cornithian Yacht Club (eighth).
