Rejection of $107.4-Million Verdict Sought: General Dynamics Corp. said it has asked a California judge to reject the jury verdict in connection with the sale of a unit to General Motors Corp.’s Hughes Aircraft unit and to order a new trial. The verdict of the Los Angeles County Superior Court jury, which found that General Dynamics violated an agreement with former employees William Forti and Dolores Blanton, includes $7.4 million in compensatory damages and $100 million in punitive damages. Shares of the Falls Church, Va., defense contractor closed unchanged at $62.375. Forti and Blanton convinced the jury they are due part of the roughly $500 million General Dynamics gained from the 1992 sale of its Missile Systems division, including E-Metrics, according to their attorney, Don Howarth.
