SWITZERLAND : India, China Object to Nuclear Treaty

India and China raised objections to a global treaty that would ban all nuclear tests, dealing a blow to U.S. and Russian diplomacy. China, which announced that its latest nuclear test earlier in the day would be its last, made its objections along with India at a meeting of 61 nations in Geneva. Beijing is unhappy with guidelines on policing suspected violators. India wants the five declared nuclear powers--Britain, France, Russia, the U.S. and China--to promise to disarm.
