SHOWS FOR YOUNGSTERS AND THEIR PARENTS TOO : ‘Monsters’ on TBS, sea savages on Family; a dog named Bingo on Disney; ABC searches for a ‘Pearl’

A 9-year-old boy being blamed for mischievous pranks discovers the source of his problems hiding under his bed in the 1989 feature film Little Monsters (TBS, Sunday at 7:35 a.m.). These little gremlins come out at night to leave footprints on the newly waxed floors and leave the ice cream out to melt. Then he visits their world. This fantasy-comedy stars Fred Savage, Howie Mandel, Daniel Stern and Margaret Whitton. For ages 10 and up.

Tall Tale (Disney Channel, Sunday at 7 p.m.), a 1995 fantasy-adventure about American frontier folk heroes, premieres this week. Legendary cowboy Pecos Bill (Patrick Swayze), giant lumberjack Paul Bunyan (Oliver Platt) and ex-slave and railroad spike driver John Henry (Roger Aaron Brown) come to the rescue when a villainous railroad baron tries to steal the deed to the farm of 12-year-old Daniel Hackett (Nick Stahl) and his father (Stephen Lang). For ages 6 and up.

Robert Urich and Ali McGraw face sharks, starvation and emotional turmoil in Survive the Savage Sea (Family Channel, Sunday at 7 p.m.). Based on an actual event, a shipwrecked family shows courage while bobbing in the Pacific in an inflatable raft. For ages 8 and up.

Bingo (Disney Channel, Monday at 1 p.m.) finds a heroic dog running away from the circus in search of a family to love. For ages 5 and up.

A sister, brother and grandmother take a magical journey to a mystical land in The Magic Pearl (ABC, Saturday at noon). This animated story, derived from Chinese folk tales, follows the travels of the sister and brother, Jamie and Peter, and their grandmother, Po Po, as they search for a stolen jade necklace. The 90-minute film features the voices of Tsai Chin (“Joy Luck Club”) and George Takei (“Star Trek”). For ages 10 and up.
