From Times Staff and Wire Reports

An FBI agent testified in the trial of three radical Muslims accused of plotting to bomb U.S. passenger jets that one suspect said he had also considered bombing a U.S. nuclear plant. FBI agent Francis Pellegrino testified that Abdul Hakim Murad “stated he had talked about possibly bombing a nuclear facility in the U.S. . . . He said the reason . . . was to make the American people and the American government suffer for their support of Israel.” Pellegrino said the conversation took place aboard a plane while he was escorting Murad from the Philippines to the U.S. on April 12, 1995.
