Disposal Available for Hazardous Materials
The city of Los Angeles Hazmobile, a mobile toxic cleanup unit, will be available to residents in the Van Nuys area Thursday through Saturday.
The Hazmobile is free to Los Angeles residents and is equipped to dispose of paints, household cleaners, pesticides, insecticides, batteries, medications and car fluids, including oil and gasoline.
The Bureau of Sanitation, which first introduced the Hazmobile in February 1994, operates the unit on an appointment-only basis. Its exact location is not disclosed to avoid unscheduled visits.
