LOCATION: Seaside Park, Harbor Boulevard and Figueroa Street
From the Ventura Freeway northbound, take the California Street or San Jon Road exitFrom the Ventura Freeway southbound, take the Main Street or Seaward Avenue exit
HOURS: Open at 11 a.m. daily
Exhibit buildings close at 10 p.m. daily
The Commercial Building closes at 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays
Carnival rides open at noon daily
ADMISSION: Adults $6
Juniors (6 to 12 years): $3
Children (5 and under): free
Senior citizens (55 and older): $3
DISCOUNT DAYS: Pepsi Family Day: Wednesday; with a coupon from Pepsi, a $10 family admission admits two adults (age 13 and over) and all youths (12 and under) in the immediate family. Coupons available at most Vons stores in western Ventura County and in Santa Barbara.
Military Appreciation Day: Thursday,; free admission for all military personnel presenting a current military ID.
Youth Day: Friday; free admission for all fair visitors under 12.
Seniors and Persons With Disabilities Day: Aug. 20.; free admission to all seniors citizens over 55 and all people with disabilities.
PARKING: On site, $5
Off-site at San Buenaventura State Beach, $5; free shuttle to fair.
Off-site at County Government Center, Buenaventura Mall and Ventura High School; free with free shuttles.
EXHIBITS AND ACTS: More than 5,000 exhibitors in agriculture, arts, home arts,aquariums, floriculture, gems and minerals, hobbies, models and collections, horse shows, livestock and photography.
Musical entertainment includes Willie Nelson (Wednesday), Gladys Knight (Thursday), Pat Boone with the New Chordettes (Aug. 20), Wayne Newton (Aug. 21), Patty Loveless with special guest Emilio (Aug. 23). Professional cowboy rodeos will be Aug. 23 to 25. (All musical acts and rodeos free with admission.)
