Perceptronics Posts Slim Profit on Revenue Decline

Perceptronics Inc. posted a narrow profit on a 2% decline in revenues for its fiscal year that ended March 31.

The struggling Woodland Hills maker of computer-based simulation systems and software for military and commercial markets posted a profit of $81,235, compared to an $11,077 profit a year ago. Revenues in the latest fiscal year were $5.99 million, down from $6.13 million in 1995.

In the fourth quarter, Perceptronics had a net loss of $18,293 compared to a $32,963 profit in the same quarter a year ago. Revenues in the latest quarter tumbled 33% to $846,943, compared to $1.26 million a year earlier.

The company said its total order backlog as of March 31 was $14.4 million, compared to a $27.2-million backlog 12 months earlier.
