Abortion Foes Rally Outside Protest Zone

SAN DIEGO — Antiabortion activists rallied outside the Republican National Convention gate Monday, ignoring a designated “free speech” zone for such gatherings.
About 200 demonstrators showed enlarged photographs of aborted fetuses a few yards from one of two main entrances to the harbor-front convention hall, but they did not attempt to impede delegates entering the building.
Getting into the hall took less time Monday than it had Sunday, when the wait to get through metal detectors lasted an hour or more.
