GOP and Abortion

* Politics sure is funny--I’ve always been a registered Republican because I believe that “the less government, the better” and that wherever possible the government should get off the people’s backs and let us live our own lives--that the only legitimate job of government is to pool resources to provide those things necessary to all of us, such as roads, schools and protection from military invasion.
What I simply cannot understand is how, if the Republican Party is the “champion of individual freedoms and liberties,” it can also be the party that’s trying to tell women what they can and can’t do with their own bodies and the party that’s trying to tell people who they can and can’t love and marry?
