Louis Maximilian Welsh; Judge Appeared on ‘Superior Court’

Louis Maximilian Welsh, 75, San Diego Superior Court judge for 12 years who appeared on television’s “Superior Court.” Welsh, a native of Chicago, was educated at the University of Chicago and Northwestern University and served as a lieutenant in the Navy during World War II. He began his career as an attorney for the Santa Fe railway, then founded two law firms, Welsh, Cummins & White in Los Angeles and Welsh & Gibson in San Diego. During his tenure on the bench from 1971 to 1983, he founded the educational San Diego Inn of Court for new lawyers and also taught at the University of San Diego Law School. Welsh was on television’s court show in 1987 and 1988. On Thursday in Del Mar.
