2 Months for Door Slam

PITTSBURGH —
A man who spent more than two months in jail for angrily slamming a courtroom door has been freed after a higher court overturned his sentence.
“It’s about time,” Michael Weidler, who had been given a six-month term for contempt, said Wednesday outside Allegheny County Jail.
Judge Donald Machen jailed Weidler on June 6. Weidler was apparently angry that the judge had refused to waive his filing fees for a divorce.
