Kellie Brennan Finishes Fifth in One-Meter Final

Kellie Brennan of Fountain Valley took fifth in the women’s final of one-meter platform diving at the Phillips 66 National Diving Championships Friday in Moultrie, Ga. Brennan finished with 231.15 points. Doris Glenn Easterly of Fort Lauderdale was first with 275.76.

In the semifinals of the men’s three-meter springboard, Nate Smith of Laguna Niguel finished eighth to advance to the finals.

Smith, who scored 570.96 points, finished eighth in the one-meter springboard final Thursday. The men’s three-meter springboard finals start Sunday.

John Simmons of Lake Forest swam the 100 backstroke in 57.50 seconds Thursday to finish sixth in the men’s finals at the Phillips 66 National Swimming Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Lenny Krazelburg of Studio City was first in 56.11.
