Heart of Museum Merger

In your Aug. 13 column (“O.C. Art Museum Merger, Right and Wrong”), Cathy Curtis finally gave Orange County something it has badly needed: a bona fide art critic.

Curtis had the guts to speak the truth and stand alone against the big-money people who think that a museum is just one more corporation to be raped and beaten. A great museum must be a living, growing institution with a larger responsibility than a bottom line.
