Graphix Zone Names New Chief Financial Officer

* Frank E. Murnane has been appointed chief financial officer of Graphix Zone Inc., an Irvine interactive music and entertainment company. Murnane was most recently chief financial officer for Internet three-dimensional software developer Worlds Inc. The company also named marketing director Joanna Skrdlant vice president of marketing. Before joining Graphix Zone, Skrdlant was director of marketing for Micro Games of America.

* Cheryl Rudich has been named vice president of marketing of Irvine-based apparel retailer Wet Seal Inc. and its Contempo Casuals unit. Rudich joined Wet Seal as director of marketing in February 1994 after nine years at the Mednick Group in Los Angeles.

* David J. D’Appolonia has been named chairman of Citadel Environmental Group Inc., Newport Beach. D’Appolonia is a director and chairman of the board of Tonopah Resources International Inc., which was acquired by Citadel earlier this month. He also is chairman of CompuSport International Inc., a golf instruction company.

* Gordon C. Lee Jr. moves up to vice president-national sales at Vans Inc., assuming responsibility for the Orange footwear company’s sales accounts throughout the United States. Lee had been vice president-sales of the western division.

* Kenneth D. Hastings has been named corporate controller of Simulation Sciences Inc. in Brea. He was previously corporate controller of Cimco Inc. and before that was group controller at Quikset Inc. Hastings also held the position of senior accountant at Deloitte & Touche in Costa Mesa.
